Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Hector the Dog needs a home

Approximate Age:

3.5 years

Meet Hector!

Hector is a young adult, cinnamon-colored chihuahua mix who came all the way to TCPR from Texas after Hurricane Harvey last October. Hector was heartworm positive, but has completed treatment and is ready to find his furever home! He is a smart young dog who responds well to "sit" and "down", and is currently working on "stay". He's pretty easy to train - he loves his people and aims to please. He also LOVES treats - with all the snacks from training and his crate rest from his heartworm treatment, Hector has a little extra "oompf" right now, and could use a dedicated family to help him get to a slim, healthy weight.

Hector loves sitting next to his people or - better yet - on their laps. He kennels at night beautifully. He visits the elderly occasionally and is very quiet and gentle. He actually rarely barks! Hector's best friend is his 13-year-old kitty buddy, Teddy. They greet each other nose to nose and cuddle up for naps. Hector is great on a leash and loves going for walks to he can check out all the squirrels.

Hector would be a great family member for a quiet home who wants to give him lots of attention. If that sounds like you, apply to meet him today!
